Moving large pieces of furniture sometimes requires dismantling and reassembly. This can be a daunting task to carry out by yourself and potentially disastrous if you overlook aspects of the process. Not for us though! Mitcham Removal’s know-how and experience makes furniture assembly Mitcham: dismantling, transportation and reassembly of these items quick, safe and easy.
Doing this by yourself can be difficult. Did you enjoy spending an entire afternoon putting together that cupboard from IKEA? What about when you realised a screw was missing? Without the competence of Mitcham Removals you could easily overlook the importance of keeping screws, nuts and bolts safely together. We don’t though. We keep them in a bag attached to the furniture, so there’s no chance of losing anything.
And what about the risk of damage to your furniture? You’d better make sure you have the manual lying about. If not, tread carefully. Improper reassembly could cause serious damage to your bed, cupboard or table. The thing is, when you’ve disassembled and reassembled hundreds of beds it suddenly becomes obvious what you need to do. We don’t need that instruction manual because we’ve already done it, hundreds of times.
For example, let’s look at a bed. First, take off the mattress and put it in a mattress protector. Then get rid of the horizontal slats and box frame. Next, loosen the headboard and footboard before removing the screws completely and putting the parts to one side. Take the screws, put them in a small plastic bag and sellotape them to the parts that they came from. Finally, remove the side rails.
Sounds easy right? Well, no. That’s just for one type of bed. There are loads of different makes and structures, and whilst many are similar to each other it is the variation in small details that make the job risky. Without a solid understanding of how the bed is constructed you run the risk of causing serious damage. We’re alright, we’re got the experience. But if you choose to dismantle the furniture yourself you’d better be careful.
On top of that, dismantling different types of furniture requires a lot of different tools. Tools that you probably don’t have lying around the house. There are almost as many different types of allen keys and screwdrivers needed as there are types of furniture! And then there’s wrenches, socket sets and mallets (because sometimes furniture takes a bit of convincing to come apart). Luckily for you, we have them all.
As you can see, Mitcham Removals is ready and prepared to disassemble furniture quickly, safely and easily. We take the headache and the worry out of the process by using the right tools and the experience learnt through hundreds of moves.
